1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Xi. By creating an account, signing in, or using the service in any other way, you confirm that you have read these Terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your use of the service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect personal data. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference; by accepting these Terms, you also acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

Where these Terms refer to “you” or “your,” they mean the individual using the service. Where they refer to “we,” “us,” or “Xi,” they mean the operator of the service.

2. About Xi

Xi is an experiment-tracking service available at xiexperiments.com. The service helps you commit to a hypothesis and a definition of success or failure before you start a test, log metrics during the test, and reach a verdict that follows the rules you wrote on day one.

For any question about these Terms, you can write to us at xiexperiments.app@gmail.com.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required to give consent to data processing in your country, whichever is older. If you use Xi on behalf of a workspace, team, or organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

4. Your account

Account sign-up and sign-in are handled through our authentication provider. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information associated with your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for any activity that takes place under your account.

Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

5. The service

The current Xi service includes:

  • A tool for committing experiment contracts (a hypothesis, success threshold, kill threshold, time box, and metric).
  • A log for recording metric values and notes during a test.
  • An archive of past experiments, learnings, and outcomes scoped to your workspace.
  • An optional connector to Google Analytics so a metric can be sourced automatically.
  • A remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint that lets an AI agent you authorize drive the same lifecycle on your behalf.

Today the service is offered free of charge while we develop it. We may change, add, or remove features over time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, workspace, system, or data not belonging to you.
  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the service without our prior written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the service, except where this restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the service beyond the documented MCP and API surfaces.
  • Upload or store content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that contains malware.
  • Treat experiment results produced by the service as medical, financial, or legal advice (see Disclaimers).
  • Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm other people, or to process other people’s personal data without a lawful basis.
  • Run experiments that create a foreseeable risk of physical or psychological harmto you or to anyone else. This includes, but is not limited to, protocols that involve unsafe dietary, fasting, dosing, exercise, sleep-deprivation, or self-medication patterns. If a protocol could plausibly cause injury, consult a qualified professional before running it — Xi is a tracking tool, not a safety review.
  • Manipulate, deceive, or experiment on other people without their informed consent. Running A/B-style or behavioral tests on customers, employees, family, friends, or any other person without their knowing, voluntary, and reasonably specific consent is not permitted. Where applicable law (for example, research-ethics or consumer-protection rules) requires additional safeguards, you must comply with them in addition to these Terms.

7. Workspaces and members

Experiments and logs live inside a workspace. Workspaces can have multiple members with different roles (admin or member). An admin can invite or remove members and can delete the workspace entirely. Deleting a workspace removes its experiments, logs, learnings, and other workspace data. This action is intended to be permanent.

If you belong to a workspace you do not own, the workspace owner controls what stays inside it. Take this into account before logging anything sensitive.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the experiments, hypotheses, metrics, notes, and learnings you record (your “Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your Content for the sole purpose of operating and improving the service for you.

We do not sell your Content. We may use de-identified, aggregated patterns derived from across the service (for example, which kinds of contracts run for how many days on average) to improve Xi. Anything like that is stripped of identifiers before use.

9. Third-party services and integrations

Xi is built on top of, and integrates with, third-party services. Some run quietly behind the scenes (authentication, hosting, the database). Others you turn on yourself (for example, the Google Analytics connector). When you connect a third-party integration, you authorize Xi to exchange data with that service on your behalf, within the permissions you grant.

Each third-party service has its own terms and privacy policy. Those documents apply to the data those services process. The full list of sub-processors we use is in our Privacy Policy.

10. AI agents and MCP

Xi exposes a remote MCP endpoint so an AI client of your choice (for example, Claude) can connect over OAuth and drive the same lifecycle you would: commit an experiment, log values, confirm a verdict, capture a learning. When you authorize an AI client, you authorize it to take actions on your behalf inside the workspace and within the scope you granted.

All actions taken by an AI agent through Xi are user-initiated and performed at your own risk. An AI client only acts after you authorize it and only within the scope you grant; the resulting reads, writes, ships, kills, deletions, and other operations are treated, for the purposes of these Terms, as actions you have asked us to perform on your behalf.

We make no guarantee that an AI client’s output is correct, safe, or aligned with your intent. AI clients can misinterpret instructions, hallucinate facts, choose the wrong tool, or act on prompt-injected content. You are responsible for reviewing what an agent does in your workspace, for the consequences of those actions, and for revoking access if anything looks wrong.

Tokens are scoped to your workspace and you can revoke them at any time from your settings or your AI client.

11. Beta and early-access features

Some features of Xi are early or experimental. They are provided “as is” for evaluation, may change at short notice, and may be removed without becoming part of the regular service.

12. Fees and changes to plans

The service is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans for new features or for usage above a threshold. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice before any charge applies and a clear way to opt out.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Xi at any time. You can delete your account from your profile settings; account deletion removes the personal data we hold about you, subject to the limited retention described in our Privacy Policy.

We can suspend or terminate access to the service if you breach these Terms, if your use threatens the security or stability of the service, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will let you know first.

14. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

Experiment results are informational. Xi is not a medical device, a clinical tool, a financial-advice platform, or a legal-advice platform. Do not use it as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. If you are running an experiment that touches on your health, money, or legal exposure, talk to someone qualified before acting on a verdict.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Xi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) US $100. Because the service is currently free, the practical effect is the US $100 cap.

16. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service in breach of these Terms, your Content, or your violation of any law or any third-party right.

17. Disputes

Before taking any other action, please email us at xiexperiments.app@gmail.com with a description of the issue. We will try to resolve disputes directly and quickly. Most issues can be sorted out this way.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, give notice in the product or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service and supersede any prior agreement on the same subject. If any part of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them as part of a transfer of the service or a corporate transaction.
